Data Deletion

Your data is yours. You can delete your Finly account and all associated data at any time, or request deletion of specific data while keeping your account active. This page explains both options, what happens when you submit a request, and how long it takes.

Option 1. Delete your entire account (self-service in the app)

The fastest way to remove your data is from inside the Finly app on iOS or Android.

  1. Open Finly and sign in
  2. Tap your avatar in the top right to open Profile
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account
  4. Type DELETE to confirm
  5. Tap the red Delete button

You will be signed out immediately. Your account and all associated data are queued for permanent deletion and are removed from our servers within 30 days. After the queue runs (typically once per day), the email address you used can be re-registered as a brand new account with no carried-over history.

Option 2. Delete specific data without deleting your account

If you want to keep your Finly account but delete only certain data (for example, your game progress, your trophies, or your profile picture), email us at admin@finlyofficial.com with the subject line Partial data deletion request and include:

  • The email address registered with your Finly account
  • What data you want deleted (be specific, e.g. "all game progress and coin history" or "profile picture only")
  • Whether you want this confirmed by reply email

We process partial deletion requests within 5 business days and reply to confirm the action. If your request would affect leaderboards or trophies, we will explain the impact before proceeding.

What data gets deleted

A full account deletion permanently removes:

  • Email address
  • Display name, profile picture, grade, and school
  • All game progress and lesson completions
  • Coin balance and coin history
  • Earned trophies
  • In-app notifications
  • Device tokens used for local notifications
  • Feedback you have submitted
  • Active login sessions on all devices

One-time-code login emails sent through SendGrid may persist in SendGrid's delivery logs for a limited retention period set by SendGrid. We do not retain copies of these emails on our own infrastructure.

How long does it take

  • In-app account deletion: you are signed out immediately. Permanent removal from our servers completes within 30 days, typically within 24 hours.
  • Email-based partial deletion: processed within 5 business days, with a reply confirming what was deleted.

After deletion

Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If you delete your account and later want to use Finly again, you can register a new account with the same email address. None of your previous progress, coins, or trophies will carry over.
